Library Information

Come Visit Us

The Rock Island County Illinois Genealogical Society (RICIGS) maintains a library of over 3,000 books, publications, documents, CDs, maps, and periodicals spanning from colonial times to the present, covering every region of the U.S. The collection includes copies of all the Blackhawk Genealogical Society and the more recent Rock Island County Illinois Genealogical Society publications and a complete set of back issues of the Quarterly. The Society also welcomes contributions to the collection.

We house our library at the Rock Island County Historical Society (RICHS). This gives people researching their roots in Rock Island County easier access to a full range of genealogical and historical information. As an added benefit, our genealogical society members have free full access to Rock Island County Historical Society (RICHS) materials. Donations are always welcomed and accepted by Rock Island County Historical Society (RICHS).

The Rock Island County Historical Society is open 9AM – 4PM Wednesday through Saturday. (Please call before visit to verify hours.)
