Albert Eames and wife were killed by the train at Carbon Cliff last night. Mrs. Eames was the former Miss Mary Murphy, daughter of the late Michael Murphy and was born and raised at the Cliff. She married Mr. Eames about 2 years ago and for some time they resided at Joliet. He was a stone mason by trade. They were at the Cliff visiting Mrs. Eames’ mother. Both were about 30 years old. (from the Sunday Mail issue of June 25, 1893, there is some additional information) Mrs. Eames had an older brother who died when he reached manhood; an elder sister, Mrs. Josie McGinty who died 3 years ago leaving 5 little ones, the youngest less than 3 months old, and a crippled sister, Miss Nora. Mr. and Mrs. Eames leave one son and one daughter.
