A letter from J.D. Harris of Edgerton, South Dakota is published. He mentions some of his South Dakota neighbors who formerly lived in Mercer County or in Rock Island County as beings:
1. J.Q. Boldman, who used to run a ferry from Muscatine, Iowa to Drury’s Landing in about 1849 or 1850. Mrs. Boldman is a sister of Err Thornton who died a few years ago. They live at Armour, South Dakota.
2. Sam Ramsey who was born and raised in Bowling, has a claim “on the reservation in Charles Mix” He is a nephew of Mrs. Alex Boyle.
3. The Rev. Mr. Peel who preaches to the Swedish Lutheran people in this country and who used to live at Swedona.
